Pick up in Juneau. Meet the yacht and get settled for you week long adventure. Relax and enjoy dinner while sailing to our first anchorage. Keep a look out for humpback whales and Orca whales. We will sail 45 miles and anchor in Tracy Arm Entrance Cove for the night.
We will leave in the morning for a 25 mile cruise up Tracy Arm Fiord. This is a very unique day. The Fiord has stunning vertical rock walls with water falls at ever corner. We will be navigating through ice bergs to get to South Sawyer Glacier and will spend a few hours enjoying this tide water glacier, as long as the ice bergs allow us to get all the way to the glacier. After a relaxing lunch in front of this mountain of ice we will cruise back down Tracy Arm to Wood Spit, our anchorage for the night. From this peaceful spot you can see a hanging glacier in the mountains.
We will leave the anchorage early in the morning and serve breakfast while underway to anchor in Gambier Bay. This Bay has lots of bears and beautiful rain forest making it the perfect place to explore. We also often see whales and sea loins on our way. Take the afternoon to kayak around this small cove or hike though the fields and forest looking for wild edibles and maybe doing a little stream fishing for salmon or trout.
We will leave early in the morning and have breakfast underway to Chapin Bay. After our 3 hour sail we will all be ready to go kayaking or hiking, or just relax onboard and enjoy the whales, bears and eagles.
Enjoy a slow morning at anchor, go for a walk or kayak and watch the wild life wake up for the day! Around lunch time we will head out for a short 3 hour cruise to Warm Springs. Take the rest of the day to relax in the amazing natural hot springs and hike to the alpine lake.
We will leave early from Warm Springs and cruise for around 5 hours to Appleton Cove. This cove has a few streams and lots of wild life to watch, it is also a great place for a hike, kayaking and fishing.
Wake up for a majestic 3 hour cruise through a narrow canal with views of wild life and amazing rock formations. We will sneak our way into a beautiful anchorage in Deep Bay. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring, fishing, kayaking and hiking.
On the final day we will sail 30 miles to Sitka, this sail is very involved due to the narrow canals and steep rock cliffs on both sides. Relax and enjoy your final day onboard. Disembark in the afternoon in Sitka!!
