OUr Crew

Meet the Crew and Our Commitment

Jonathan and Brittany are a married couple who have been exploring the world together for 10 years now. They have sailed around the east coast of the US and the Caribbean for 5 years, sailed across the Atlantic and chartered in Alaska for 6 years, Alaska has been their full time home for 4 years.  In 2021 Maverick joined the crew and in 2023 Tucker joined the crew.  Maverick and Tucker were born in Alaska and have been adventuring with the crew of Alaskan Song for their whole life’s. They all share a love of adventure and a deep love for nature. Brittany, Maverick and Tucker will be based on shore in Juneau during the summer season and Brittany will be coordinating with all our guests to ensure the trip and food are paired perfectly to each individual group.

Alaskan Song will have three crew onboard for any charter and four for larger groups.  We will run with Jonathan Yoors as the captain and guide,  Matthew Yoors and mate, guide and steward and a chef.  

Captain and Owner

Jonathan Yoors

Jonathan is originally from Rockport Massachusetts, a small fishing village an hour north of Boston. He has captained boats all over the world but his favorite place to sail and spend time is in the Bahamas and Alaska. Jonathan is a USCG 500ton captain with over 18 years yachting experience and 24 years owning and captaining his own boats, you can rest assured knowing you have an experienced captain at the helm. Jonathan loves to fish, spear fish, snorkel, hike, kayak, paddle board, explore the wilderness and enjoy all types of nature and wildlife Alaska has to offer.

Brittany Yoors

Brittany is originally a southern California native with a love of traveling the world. She is a professionally trained chef with nearly 20 years professional food service experience. She is also an avid naturalist and enjoys opening the minds of those around her by taking them foraging for local wild edibles in the areas she is on charter in. Brittany is very passionate about food, the environment, critter watching, kayaking, and other water sports. You can expect to enjoy exceptional locally caught food while chartering Alaskan Song.  Brittany will be the shore support. She will be working on specialized menus for each group and well as any logistical issues that may arise.

Michelle Meyer

Michelle is from The kingdom of Eswatini, a small landlocked country  in Southern Africa. She began her yachting career in Fort Lauderdale,Florida in 2015. Initially hoping to have a gap year abroad, she fell in love with the ocean and over a decade later she still continues to enjoy a life at sea. She spends most of the year in the Bahamas with her fiancee, Mitch, and cherishes their summers in Alaska! She’s passionate about cooking, reading, hiking and catching fish.

Mitch Steinuelher

Mitch was born in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up with varying surroundings of the cornfields of Iowa and the rocky coasts of Northern California. After pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology Mitch relocated to the Florida Keys, where he continued to expand his passion for diving and wildlife understanding as a whole. This eventually led him to yachting and what has now been nearly a decade of working on the water, alongside his fiancé Michelle. As a USCG 200T captain, Mitch’s favorite part of his work is creating and sharing “experience of a lifetime” moments for guests.
